Welcome to EPERN
Founded in 2020, the Entangled Political Economy Research Network (EPERN) provides a network for researchers in the field of “entangled political economy.” Our objectives are to promote the research and study of entangled political economy, promote access to the latest research in the field, and to enable scholars with an interest in this field to engage with each other.
EPERN convenes a regular seminar series to share new developments in entangled political economy studies. We also maintain a membership register providing a basis for information-sharing and collaboration amongst people specialising in entangled political economy scholarship. All the activities of the network will be oriented at generating new research and new research partnerships, leading to increased presence of entangled political economy ideas in academic journals.
EPERN welcomes the involvement of researchers from a wide range of social scientific disciplines, including economics, political economy, political science, public policy studies, law, history, psychology, and sociology.
We welcome your feedback and perspectives. Please feel free to contact us (details on the contact page).
Our Mission
The purpose of the Entangled Political Economy Research Network (EPERN) is to support the intellectual development of the “entangled political economy” approach to studying economic, political, and social phenomena. In seeking to maintain a scholarly network of researchers interested in entangled political economy studies, EPERN seeks to faciliteate exchanges of research and ideas both within the field and across a range of social scientific disciplines. EPERN will enable participants to address issues of relevance to researchers of entangled political economy, including seminars, conferences, and other forums to share interests and findings emanating from their research work. With entangled political economy studies intersecting with research in complexity, evolutionary, and network studies, EPERN also seeks to build linkages with other research associations and organisations sharing related intellectual interests.
